A'nesis PTSD Marriage Bootcamps

Trudy Johnson, PhD, LMFT,* CCTS-1  offers 5 day "Bootcamp" intensives for marriages in Peoria, Arizona.  Ms. Johnson has crafted a very unique program that requires each spouse to "put the oxygen mask on themselves first."  Working with couples for years, Trudy Johnson realized  marriage counseling doesn't always accomplish change in spouses because they are focusing on change in their spouse rather than themselves. Additionally, couples are triggering in the physical space of each other to create reactions much like those who have been to war. Read "The Emotionally Divorced Couple."

In reality, individuals need their own personal work before trying to mend the marriage relationship.  Here is what a typical bootcamp looks like:

Bootcamps begin Tuesday mornings at 9:00AM- 12:00PM -   You meet as a couple where Trudy hears your "couple story" and explains some of the trauma concepts used in the bootcamp.

Tuesday- 1:30-3:00  Spouse A meets individually with Dr. Trudy

Tuesday 3:00-4:30    Spouse B meets individually with Dr. Trudy

Wednesday and Thursday -  Spouse A meets individually with Dr. Trudy   9:00-12:00

Spouse B meets individually with Dr. Trudy   1:30-4:30

Friday - 9:00-12:00 and 1:30-4:30 Couples meet together to navigate letting go of the "old marriage" with all its hurt, pain and flaws in order to move into a new place with their marriage.

Saturday - 9:0-12:00 Couples finish with communication tools and new understandings of ways to establish new habits in their marriage.

Cost for the counseling for this marriage bootcamp is $3980.00. The total hours spent either individually or as a couple is 27.  These costs do not include the expense of travel and lodging in Phoenix. There are many options for lodging near the counseling location.

* Trudy Johnson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the States of Colorado (#755), Tennessee (#1182), and Arizona (#15646).

Spouses will each take a PTSD testing and also a depression and anxiety test and in addition a Gottman Relationship Evaluation.  Spouses must agree to participate in the A'nesis trauma resolution and prayer techniques.

Dr Trudy explains the trauma resolution process.
